ALVA BOARD OF EDUCATION
The board’s primary responsibility is to establish programs and procedures that will produce the best educational opportunities for students in the Alva school district. The board accomplishes this while also being responsible for the efficient management of the resources available to the district.
The board fulfills these responsibilites by formulating and adopting policy. Furthermore, the board members carry out their duties openly, while seeking the involvement and contributions of students, staff and the public in their decision making processess.
Each member is elected to a five-year term. Board members include: Shane Hansen, Jane McDermott, Tiffany Slater, Karen Koehn, Larry Parker.
Regular meetings of the Board of Education are held at 5:00 pm in the Administrative offices located at 418 Flynn Street. Meetings are typically held on the first Monday of each month, depending on legal holidays and the school calendar.
