Goldbug Homecoming Information


Congratulations!!! The AHS One-Act Team hosted and competed at Regionals today, earning the title of Regional Champions! In addition to this incredible achievement, they also received the Outstanding Tech Award. Four talented actors were named to the All-Star Cast: Kaden Lambert, Willy McClure, TJ Killman, and Madeline Ryerson. ••The cast will perform their award-winning show for the public on October 22nd at 7:00 PM at home, before heading to compete at the State competition in Choctaw on November 2nd.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS! 🎉 Congratulations to Ms. Coon's 1st Grade Class for being the first to spell out the full 'Attendance Matters' message!
At WECC, classes work to fill their 'Attendance Matters' chart, earning a letter each day that all students are present. The goal is to celebrate and encourage consistent attendance. Ms. Coon's class currently has the best Average Daily Attendance Percentage—way to go! Keep up the great work!

Did you notice the downtown crosswalks? Members of the AHS Student Council volunteered their time to paint the crosswalks in preparation for the NWOSU and AHS homecoming festivities.

Longfellow Students Earn Fire Department Ride-Along! 🚒
Congratulations to Conner Jones, Jocee Altobella, and Emmy Weber for earning a special ride-along with the Fire Department! These students were chosen after receiving GOTCHAS for demonstrating the BUGS Standards. They had an exciting ride in the fire truck and enjoyed a treat from Rialto. Way to go!

Yesterday, we had the chance to celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day to recognize and treat each of our custodians. Shelly Harris will be on the Alva NWTC campus to present the ACT Prep Workshop! The cost is $20 per student, and current NWTC students can attend for FREE! To reserve your seat, please contact the NWTC front office.

🌟AMS Students Of The Month
The teachers at Alva Middle have selected Harper Williams and John Thoma, 8th grade; Joplin Bradt and Trenton Parker, 7th grade; and Jazlyn Dooley and Blayr Corder, 6th grade as AMS Students of the Month for August.
These students received lunch provided by Pizza Hut of Alva as an extension of the AMS Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Program implemented in the Alva Public Schools. The Students of the Month Program at AMS is sponsored and organized by Ms. Kandee Almgren.
