Congratulations to Washington's Top Gotcha Winners for the month of October!! A "gotcha" is a positive reinforcement tool used to recognize and reward exceptional behavior by students. It's a way of acknowledging when a student goes above and beyond expectations, demonstrating outstanding character, responsibility, or effort, both in and outside of the classroom.

Congratulations to the 10 AHS freshmen who attended the UCO Freshmen Leadership Academy (UCOLA) on November 6 at the University of Central Oklahoma! 🌟 Special recognition goes to Isaac Anton and Clayse Schafer, who each received $500 scholarships to UCO for demonstrating exceptional leadership skills.

You have one last chance to see the Class 4A State One-Act State Champions! Wednesday Nov. 13th at 7:30 pm in the AHS auditorium, admission is by donation. This is a very entertaining and professional show that is fun for ALL ages. You will not regret letting us take you on the adventure known as Shipwrecked!

Best of luck to these two superstars!!! Today Kaos Davis and Justus Hoover will travel to the Oklahoma School for the Blind to compete in Cane Quest. They are no strangers to this competition and have both done very well in the past. In this competition they will be challenged to safely complete routes given auditory instructions wild using proper travel techniques and appropriate cane skills. We want to wish these boys the best of luck.

AMS Veterans Day Celebration

Congratulations to our AMS & AHS choir members who have advanced to round two of the All-State auditions! These talented students are one step closer to joining the highest-ranked choir in the state and earning the esteemed title of All-Stater. The next auditions will be held on Saturday, November 16th, at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Best of luck to all as they continue their journey!

We had a successful family-friendly event to help raise money for Washington Early Childhood Center! AHS October Rotary Students of the Month Congratulations Randee Perks & Kaden Lambert

Harper Houston , Alva HS Student Council President, and the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils State Vice-president will be finishing her term in office at the OASC State convention this weekend in Bartlesville at the OASC State Convention. Harper, who was selected for office one year ago, has spent her year serving the OASC by representing the state at the National Vision Leadership Conference, the Basic Leadership Workshops, and by presenting her own platform, the OASC Playbook. The leadership Harper has shown this year during her term has inspired so many others to grow in their leadership,not only at AHS, but across the state. She has represented AHS well and we wish her luck this weekend. Alva HS will be taking 25 delegates to the convention this year where they will be assisting Harper in leading the 1700 delegates in several roundtable discussions and encouraging her as she leads the convention from the stage.

Lincoln Staff & Students Hope You Had a Wonderful Halloween! 🎃

Yesterday’s strong winds took down a large tree at Lincoln, but thanks to the quick response and efficient removal by the City of Alva, the area was clear and safe by noon. We’re so grateful for their hard work and support!

🎃Come & visit WECC’s pumpkin patch! All proceeds will benefit Washington students - from purchasing classroom activity materials, paying for field trips, and hopefully providing a shade structure for our playground one day! 🎃 Thank you Jackson Pumpkin Acres for donating the pumpkins
