On Wednesday, November 5, thirteen AHS freshmen attended the Freshman Leadership Academy held at UCO in Edmond. The UCOLA program is a one-day workshop hosted by the UCO Leadership Department to help develop future leaders in Oklahoma high schools.
Students who attended were: Graham Goss, Parker Grimsley, Asbrie Heaton, Cord Heaton, Madison Kern, Baylee Nesseralla, Kuper Penco, Lexi Percival, Angelina Rosas, Lyla Schmidt, Jensen Thiesing, Harper Williams, and Kinley Bohm.
A special congratulations to Angelina Rosas and Lexi Percival, who each received a $500 scholarship to UCO, and to Madi Kern, who earned a $1,000 scholarship for the leadership skills they demonstrated during the event.
This academy is a fantastic opportunity for the future leaders of AHS to learn, grow, and strengthen their leadership potential.

High School Students: if you would like a lunch tomorrow you can get one from the middle school at 11:15AM.
Our Longfellow third graders recently attended a special assembly organized by their teachers to learn how to properly raise, lower, and fold the American and Oklahoma flags. Each third-grade class will take turns helping with the flags each day at Longfellow. This is a wonderful way for our students to show respect and care for our flags—and it helps protect them from a little extra wear and tear from that famous Oklahoma wind!
